i asked my students. and they gave an answer.

I was walking at the school corridor.
just finished my lesson with 3D's students.
Then, there was this one student who went out of the class and sat at the hut, with a very stressed face.

He was sulking with the teacher for forcing him doing the exercises.
reason for not doing the task: tiredness.

In the class, during my E lesson

I asked my student :
Kenapa kamu lambat?

He answered:
Mana ada cikgu...saya awal pagi tadi dah sampai..siap beratur perhimpunan lagikkk...

*sigh*

I asked my student:
What's the meaning of "A study?"

He answered:
ha..ha... ahhhh... orang tuh sekali je belajar.

dari form 1 sampai lah form 4...
kenapa diorang suka ukur tinggi ngan aku time aku ngajar?
motippp??
dapat seploh ringgit ke kalau aku lagik rendah dari diorang?

tapi suatu ketika,
terus kau buat keputusan untuk tinggal menetap di Kemboja.
agak-agaknya, Kemboja prejudis tak nak terima kau sebagai penduduk?
motip kau beria nak ke Kemboja?
motip kau nak menetap di sana?

jangan kata sebab kau tiada pilihan lain.

kampung boy

while i was busy jotting down points for long jump at the field...

I (and a few other teachers) saw this one boy (from my school-wearing numbers on his t-shirt) was talking to this one group of boys. some were students from my school and others were unfamiliar school leavers' faces.

First, this one thin guy put his feet on this boy's face (one who wore the number on his t-shirt). and then, he kicked and punched the boy. The boy ran for his life and was chased by the guy. I was kinda shocked. Is this what my students face when they were outside the school? bullying, gangsterisme and other bad activities?

they were one group of boys with motorcycles.
they were just looking without trying to stop the chasing, kicking and everything.
this was kinda normal for them and new for me.
they were the bystanders.
and my collegues - they simply dont want to get involved.
It's not within school hours and outside the school compound.
so not my responsiblility.

and I - I just dont know what to do.
should I, alone go to the tall and thin guy and ask him to stop?
what if he aimed and picked on me after that?
I sound selfish but really, these were the kampung boys.
and I live alone in their area.

I think i dont really get the whole picture of this small town yet.

tak semestinya kau cikgu sains,
kau tak pernah salah dalam sains.
tak semestinya kau cikgu bahasa inggeris,
kau tahu semua tentang bahasa inggeris.
tak semestinya kau ustaz,
kau tak mengumpat, memfitnah, bersangka buruk,
tak semestinya kau berkuasa, kau boleh arah orang sesuka hati.

dalam hidup ni, kita banyak bergantung pada orang.
aku kau aku..
dan kadang aku rasa terlampau banyak bergantung hingga orang yang hulurkan tali terasa mengah.
aku ni berat, aku cuba kadang untuk tarik orang yang tolong aku...
tapi nyata tali hanya ada satu,
...dengan dua penghujung.
kalau sama-sama tarik, realitinya tak ke mana.
tapi hakikatnya, tali akan terangkat jua.

kalau kau jatuh, pasti aku akan tarik sedaya aku.
dan kalau aku jatuh, tariklah aku sebelum aku tersungkur.
